Cwrdd tu allan prif giatiau HMP Berwyn, Wrecsm am 12yh ar ddydd llun y 27fed o Chwefror.

Ym mis Chwefror ar y 27fed bydd ail garchar mwyaf Ewrop yn yn cael ei hagor yn Wrecsam, Gogledd Cymru. Bu pobl lleol yn lobio yn ei herbyn am pum mlynedd a fe wnaeth ymgyrchwyr weithredu yn erbyn adeiladu y carchar sawl gwaith gan flocio y deunyddiau adeiladu rhad dod i’r safle a creu stwr yn rhai o ddigwyddiadau ricriwtio’r carchar.

Gyda chalon drom rydym yn tystio’r cawell ar y fath raddfa ddiwydiannol hon gael ei hagor. Byddwn yno y dydd caiff ei hagor yn dangos ein gwrthwynebiad i holl garchardai a caiff eu hadeiadu a’r tyfiant o’r cyd-berthynas diwydiannol carchar.

Faint o deuluoedd a caiff eu dinistrio gan HMP Berwyn? Faint o gymunedau a fydd yn colli ei dynion ifanc iddi? Yn y ffatri hon o dor-chalon a phoen bydd pobl yn marw – o geisio dianc trwy cyffuriau neu drwy lladd eu hunain fel ffordd allan.

Dim mwy o garchardai! Rydym yn erbyn y 5 mega garchar a chaiff ei hadeiladu ac yn galw ar y Llywodraeth i fabwysiadu moratoriwm ar adeiladau carchardai newydd.

Mae No Prisons Manchester, Community Action on Prison Expansion, ac yr Incarcerated Workers’ Organising Committee yr IWW yn galw arnoch i weithredu.

Meet outside the main gates of HMP Berwyn, Wrexham on monday the 27th of Febuary at 12pm

On February 27th 2017 the second biggest prison in Europe will open in Wrexham, North Wales. Local people lobbied for five years against this prison and campaigners blockaded the construction site and disrupted recruitment for the prison multiple times.

It is with a heavy heart that we see the opening of a cage of this industrial scale. We will be there the day it opens showing our opposition to all mega prisons being built and the continuing growth of the prison-industrial complex.

How many families will be ripped apart by HMP Berwyn? How many communities will lose their young men to it? In this factory of misery people will die – be it from overdosing on drugs trying to escape from reality or by taking their own lives in despair.

No new prisons! We are against the 5 new prisons being built and call on the government to adopt a moratorium on building new prisons. No Prisons Manchester, Community Action on Prison Expansion, and the IWW’s Incarcerated Workers’ Organising Committee call on you to take action.
