The NHS are denying Kevan Thakrar access to critical mental health care
SHOW SOLIDARITY WITH KEV!
DEMAND ACCESS TO MENTAL HEALTH CARE!!
Kevan’s story
2008, Kevan Thakrar was wrongfully sentenced to a lifetime in prison on ‘joint enterprise.’ He has been fighting for his freedom ever since. Kevan actively resists dehumanizing prison conditions, racism and injustice. Kev was kept in solitary confinement for over a full calander year in conditions that amounted to torture. THIS HAS HAD AN IMPACT ON KEV’S MENTAL HEALTH.
Despite having a diagnosis, Kevan receives no professional support and his health needs have been neglected. The mental health team has refused to provide Kevan with care and he has been denied access to medical appointments by prison staff. This medical neglect is exacerbating Kevan’s mental health condition. Kevan is requesting mental health support as a matter of urgency.
We cannot allow this to continue! Take a stand for Kevan!

WHAT TO WRITE
To whom it may concern,
I am writing to you on behalf of Kevan Thakrar (A4907AE), HMP whitemoor.
I believe Kevan’s mental health care has been neglected and that the NHS is failing in its duty of care. Kevan has been wrongfully imprisoned for 17 years due to a miscarriage of justice. Kevan was held unjustly in solitary confinement for over a calendar year. I think this is appalling and an inhuman use of torture against him.
Kevan needs access to mental health care support. Solitary confinement is deeply harmful and has long term psychological impacts. Kevan has a right to mental health care. I urge you to provide him with an appropriate mental health assessment and follow up care at once.
Please will you commit to ensuring Kevan receives the mental health care and support he is entitled to?
